Royal Thames Cumberland Regatta — 20 June '08

The Clubs Anual regatta is almost upon us!

We've moved our major club social-and-sailing event from its traditional slot in the last weekend in June to the previous weekend so as not to clash with this year's JP Morgan Round the island race, which to gain the best tides is being held later than usual. 

There are three social events during the weekend. You may wish to come along to all three or you may prefer just to come along to the Beach Barbecue for example. There is no requirement for you to partake in the whole weekend.
On Friday there will be our usual Race For A Silver Cup to get everyone to Cowes followed by a drinks party on the balcony of the Prospect.
On Saturday we shall be racing for the Queen Victoria and RTYC Challenge Cups and finish the day back in Cowes.  There will be a superb dinner on the Platform of the Royal Yacht Squadron with a drinks reception beforehand.
Sunday wills see a peregrination towards Beaulieu where there will be a beach barbeque in the grounds of John and Carol Hackman’s house centred on the delightful beach house and the wooded beach area adjacent thereto. 
Discovery yachts are providing one of their 55 foot yachts for the weekend. Members will be able to go aboard to have a look around whilst enjoying a glass of wine or two. Furthermore she will be taking part in the racing so members will be able to sail her as well.
