Elaine Wins Trafalgar Cup

With three bullets, Mike Bridges well-sailed Elan 37 won the Royal Thames Trafalgar Cup to day, Saturday 16th August, in what was regatta 5 of the summer-long IRC Solent Series. Although the competing attractions of both the Royal Southampton YC's Nab Tower Double two-handed race and the Royal Air Force YC's Beneteau Cup combined to draw-off Solent Series entrants to such an extent that only 8 yachts turned out, those 8 enjoyed three good races sailed over round-the-cans courses that provided a maximum of true beats and square runs and a minimum of white-sail reaching.
