Our annual Cumberland Regatta, now recognised as the high-point of the Club's social and sailing year, will again take place this year from Friday17th – Sunday 19th June 2016. For those who wish to remain at sea this will be followed by The Cumberland Cruise, ending on Friday 24th June, bringing UK based boats together.
We begin with the gathering of the Cumberland Fleet in Cowes on Friday 17th June, berths will be available in Shepards Wharf Marina.
During the evening there will be a supper for £20 a head in the newly refurbished Sugar Store Events Centre in Shepards Wharf Marina.
Racing for the cruisers on Saturday wil be for the Queen Victoria Cup in the morning and the Royal Thames Offshore Challenge Cup in the afternoon, with a stop for lunch in between. The Younger Members will also be racing at the same time in the Club’s fleet of J/70s.
Berths will be available on Saturday evening in the Haven at The Royal Yacht Squadron, by kind permission of the Flag Officers.
Dinner on Saturday evening will be in the Royal Yacht Squadron at a price of £55.00 per person for a three course meal excluding wines and a drink on arrival. Dress Code: Reefer/Lounge suit . Time: 1930 for 2000.
Sunday will see our Pursuit Race for the 1776 Cumberland Cup, the oldest yacht racing trophy in the world.
