Congratulations to the RTYC Swan 42 team!

The RTYC NYYC Invitational Cup team used the Newport Sail Regatta as a warm up event for the Swan 42 Nationals this weekend, both Newport Sail Regatta and the Nationals are excellent training platforms for the New York Yacht Club Invitational Cup later this year. They achieved a very impressive set of results: three 1sts, one 2nd and a 7th, meaning they won the event, five points ahead of the Canadian team who came second.
Nick Hornby, crew member, said: “The event involved a lot of very close racing, and we were able to use it as a competitive training session for Nationals, everyone was on their A game, and the Americans were using it as a selection event for the Nationals team, so they were racing really well. It’s a good sign that RTYC can beat the Canadians and are on the pace, as it was the Canadians who beat us in the last Invitational Cup. We’re looking forward to getting back out on the water for the next event.”
Full results can be found here.
The Swan 42 Nationals begin on Thursday 16th July, we wish our team the best of luck for what is sure to be a challenging and spectacular event.
