Team racing is an element of sailing which RTYC prides itself on. Teams of all levels and ages travel to events held all over the world, and always put in a strong performance. From the European 2K events to prestigious regattas such as The Cumberland Cup and the British America's Cup.
RTYC is fortunate enough to have the perfect training facility in the form of 8 matched J/80s which spend the winter on Queen Mary Reservoir and offer members the opportunity to race in corinthian events as well as higher level ones. Queen Mary is the ideal venue for team racing, as it is a raised reservoir, which almost guarantees a stead wind direction, it has a modern clubhouse with all the facilities a sailor could wish for, and our range of race official's boats means that team racing can be run in a slick and efficient manner.
There are plenty of opportunities for members to participate in team race training days which are run by external coaches. These sessions allow members to develop and hone their team racing skills.
