RTYC's first 'children friendly' Ionian Rally

Date: July 10th - 24th
Pre-Rally Webinar: February 9th
Pre-Rally Dinner: May 25th

Venue: Ionian

Organisers: Anthony Hinton & Julian Trumper

Overview:
Timed to coincide with the beginning of the school summer holidays, this is a one or two-week rally around the iconic and picturesque harbours and islands of the Ionian.  The Ionian is renowned for its predictable sunshine and light winds.  The wind usually arrives around Noon and blows between force 2 and 5 and dies at sunset. Names like Fiscardo and Spartichori conjure up images of tranquil harbours with tavernas and bars overlooking the azure blue water.
Members may join for both weeks or may choose to do only the first, or only the second week – or indeed join in along the way.  Members with younger families may choose to sail the first week and then organise a shore-based week in the second week.
The first week, Saturday 10th to Saturday 17th July 2021, will include a flotilla-style ‘lead boat’ to help with planning, berthing and restaurants, as well as organising games and regattas for the young and the young at heart.
The second week, Saturday 17th to Saturday 24th July 2021, we will head North from Levkas to end up in Corfu at the end of the week.
