Format: A week of cruising around the beautiful Gulf Islands. An area of outstanding beauty and renowned for its wildlife. This will be a joint cruise with the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club who are making their outstations (private marinas) available to RTYC members. The RVYC Cruising Committee have developed an exciting itinerary which will be a unique opportunity to cruise in company with their members.

Proposed Activities Schedule:
Opening dinner at RVYC, casual buffet, introductions, confirmation of cruise detail.

Board yachts in Vancouver, and cruise 28 miles across the Strait of Georgia to the RVYC Offshore Station at Tugboat Island located on pretty Silva Bay on the southern coast of Gabriola Island with spectacular views across the Strait to the Coast Mountains. If stormy, cruise to Alexandra Island, an RVYC Offshore Station in Howe Sound. Dinner provided - BBQ etc – a good chance to mix. Alternative plan for boats starting from Sidney: Sail to Ganges Marina 16 miles, busy harbour with local colour.

Stay at Tugboat for boats which started from Vancouver. Cruise to Tugboat, 25 miles, from Ganges for boats from Sidney.

Through Gabriola Pass to Ladysmith, 15 miles. Ladysmith has shops and restaurants in easy walking distance. Spaces booked at the marina.

South to Maple Bay, 15 miles. Good pub at the dock. Spaces booked at the Marina

Transit Sansum Narrows, Lunch at Genoa Bay. Continue to Butchart Gardens on Brentwood Bay. Anchor off.

Dinghy ashore to landing for visit to the famous gardens. Cruise to anchor overnight at Princess bay on Portland Island.

Portland via Ganges to Scott Point (RVYC Offshore Station) on Saltspring Island (Long Harbour). Catered dinner as final Cruise event.

Rally Ends. Cruise to Vancouver 40 miles to return boats or carry on cruising in the lower Gulf islands.

**Early  booking of a charter is highly recommended as choice of yachts is considerably less than in the Med.**
