Not to be outdone, RTYC members stood and gave a rousing rendition of ‘the drunken sailor’, but with lyrics amended by Peter Bainbridge. This was performed with considerable gusto by those members present and, the tune being widely known, we soon had the Swedes joining in on the chorus!
The Vice Commodore, Tony Hanna, thanked the the GSYC for their hospitality - in Swedish no less - to great applause!
On Sunday, the rally headed North West. On Monday they headed to Kitteln, a small bay on the East side of Braka. ‘Nature Mooring’ requires throwing a kedge out as you go go bows to the rock - best done slowly - then jumping ashore and banging a mooring hook into a crack in the rocks and using that as an anchor. With a bow ladder you can then easily climb ashore.

On the Tuesday Rally participants met up again in Sandhamn for a mid-summer dinner with the Commodore of the KSSS Patrik Salén, and his wife Katja.
On Friday charterers were back in Stockholm to hand over their charter yachts, and the other boats were scattered in various harbours around the Archipelago.
Apart from one slightly wet day, the weather throughout the fortnight was glorious. When commenting on the wonderful weather, Tomas lamented that no one will ever again feel sorry for the Swedish when they complain about their wet summers!
